Christina Ericsson, AKA “The Autism Angel” was born the oldest of four siblings and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. After high school, Christina moved to New York and fulfilled a dream of becoming a model. She later returned to Sweden, where she was married and had four beautiful boys. While raising her family, she and her husband successfully bread Arabian Thoroughbreds. Christina faced one of her biggest challenges in life when her husband passed away. Shortly after the ordeal, she gathered her strength and moved her 4 sons to the United States. Juggling an incredible workload, Christina raised her sons while working as a translator, attending college, volunteering, and earning a license in massage therapy. After a brief move to the Northeast, she returned to Florida where she remarried in 1993.
Christina settled in and focused her energy on her family and becoming a personal trainer for older adults. Through her pursuit of fitness and proper health, she became a successful Juice Plus Distributor and was a tireless volunteer for the American Cancer Society. As a advocate and supporter of anyone in need, Christina found herself presenting at an “Autism Speaks” event, which would change her life forever. She was so deeply touched and moved as she learned about the challenges faced by both the families and those who have Autism, she decided to make battling the disorder her life’s mission. Christina made this committment even though no one in her family had ever been faced with it. That sacrifice and determination quickly earned her the nickname, “The Autism Angel.”
Although Christina’s family now includes six grandchildren, she continues to spend the bulk of her time supporting her “adopted autistic children.” Her days are also filled with researching, speaking publicly, and raising funds to support the Autism Speaks Foundation. Christina’s “Angel Team” can be found in March walking for Autism, and she along with her staff work to update her website with resources, expertise, and products that will serve the needs of those who face the challenge of Autism. She has made it clear by her dedication and devotion that she is focused on a single purpose; To make life a little easier, and support the dreams of all who battle Autism.
